Monopoly Madness is a new Monopoly game by Ubisoft that puts a fast-paced, chaotic spin on the classic board game.
Since its initial release in 1935, Monopoly has become one of the most well-known board game names. Monopoly has gone through many changes in the nearly eight decades since it was first launched, and there have been a lot of various versions of the popular game. Due to the game’s enormous success, it has spawned a slew of video game adaptations and interpretations, the most recent of which, Ubisoft’s Monopoly Madness, puts a new spin on the basic Monopoly gameplay.
Since 1985, when the popular board game was first brought to platforms like the Commodore 64 and MS-DOS, Monopoly has been a cornerstone of the board game subgenre of video games. Since the beginning of the 1990s, the game has been updated on almost every video game system released. New Monopoly games based on prominent franchises have been released regularly as the video game industry evolves. Ubisoft just announced Monopoly Madness, a fresh new way to play the classic board game.
Players run over the globe to create money, claim property, and sabotage other players in the fast and hectic chaos of Monopoly Madness, as shown in the trailer on Ubisoft’s official YouTube channel. Monopoly Madness deviates from its Monopoly roots by focusing on the action as players hurry over the board in a race to claim important properties and money drops before the other players do. Players will compete for properties like restaurants and city buildings, with the chance to demolish and rebuild their assets, rather than classic Monopoly sites such as Park Place and Boardwalk.
Monopoly Madness is one of the first games in the long-running board game franchise to depart from the usual turn-based concept. Players race across a big open board in Monopoly Madness, which appears to be comparable to chaotic party games like Team 17’s Overcooked and Moving Out, with Monopoly Madness spinning the gameplay in a more competitive light. Monopoly Madness is set to be released on December 9th, 2018.
As the video gaming industry has grown, Monopoly has been increasingly associated with it, with several of the industry’s major titles receiving their versions. Popular franchises such as Pokemon and Sea of Thieves have versions of the classic board game with franchise-specific tweaks. Ubisoft has a long history of working with the mega-popular board game franchise, having served as the primary publisher of Monopoly video games since 2014. With its fast-paced, furious action, Monopoly Madness attempts to provide a fresh twist to the long-running series, hoping to captivate a new generation of Monopoly moguls.
Monopoly Madness will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on December 9th.
