    Installation of AppOptics

    AppOptics is easy to install, and the instructions are included with the product. You will need to install the APM (Application Performance Monitoring) Agent on your system to monitor your applications.     Alerts are a vital part of monitoring. Fortunately, AppOptics has built-in notifications that will tell you when an issue arises with your apps. For example, poor performance, high load, etc. You can also make your own. How to:

    1. To create a custom alert, click the Alerts icon in the menu bar. Click on Create Alert in the top right corner.
    2. This will launch a wizard for creating custom notifications.
    3. Select the metric you want to be alerted on. The Hosts type allows you to monitor hosts. However, APM can be utilized to monitor service health indicators.
    4. Fill in the appropriate details on the ‘Add Conditions’ screen and click Next.
    5. Set up as many notification services as you want on the ‘Set Notifications’ page. Click on any notification service and choose from the drop-down menu. Then Next.
    6. Then, on the ‘Add Details and Enable’ page, describe the alert. To enable the alert, click the Enable button in the bottom right corner.
    7. The alert will be added.
