- Once downloaded, run the tool.

- If you don’t want any devices identified, add their IP addresses to the Do-Not-Scan List. Next.
- Name the discovery on the Discovery Settings tab. You can change the hop count when discovering subnets. If not, leave it at 0
- To remove bridge tables, select ‘Don’t use Bridge Table data to calculate network topology.’ Mark the box to ignore nodes that only reply to ping.
- If you want to scan the network more than once, set the discovery frequency. Next.
- Once finished, click Discover.
- Wait for Network Topology Mapper to finish scanning for networks.
- After the scan, you will see your network map.
Working the Map
Now that you’ve mapped your network, you may use it to find information. By extending the ‘Node Display Options’ on the left-hand side, you can link devices by clicking ‘Connect Devices’ and dragging them from one to another. Double-clicking on a device displays extra information about the device in the right-hand window.
