- Set your system’s time zone to the right time zone and check if Firefox is free of the issue.
- If not, try setting your system’s date back one day to see if the problem goes away.
- If shifting the date back one day doesn’t work, try setting the date to the proper one and seeing if the Addons problem is resolved.

- Select Remember History from the dropdown menu and then check to see if the problem has been repaired.
#7 Edit the Extensions.json file. Allow Addons in a File Operation
- Start Firefox and type about:support in the address bar.
- Click the Access Folder button (in front of Profile Folder) in the Applications Basics table to open the Profile folder in your system’s File Explorer.
- Now close Firefox and minimize the Profile folder. Also, make sure no Firefox-related tasks are active in your system’s Task Manager.
- Then, in your favorite text editor, go to the Profile folder and open the extension.json file (e.g., Notepad, etc.).
- To open the search box, press Ctrl + F and type in app disabled. Then set all of their values to False (if True).
- Then look for the signed state and set its value to two (if set to 1).
- Save and exit the Extensions file now.
- Then restart your computer and open Firefox to see if the error has been resolved in its addons.
- If not, try disabling and enabling addons one by one to see if the problem goes away.
#8 Remove all files from the Firefox User Profile’s Storage Folder.
- In the address bar of Firefox, type about:support.
- Then, in front of the Profile Folder (in the Applications Basics table), click the Open Folder button.
- Close the Firefox browser and minimize the Profile folder (make sure no Firefox-related process is running in your system’s Task Manager).
- Then access the Storage folder after switching to the Profile folder.
- After that, erase everything in the storage folder and restart your computer.
- Launch the Firefox browser after it has been restarted to see if its addons are operating properly.
#9 Extension Files from the Firefox User Profile should be deleted.
1. Start the Firefox browser and type about: in the address bar.
2. Now scroll down to the table of Application Basics and click the Open Folder button next to Profile Folder in the table of Application Basics (which will open the Profile folder window in the File Explorer).
3. Close the Firefox browser and minimize the Profile folder window (make sure no Firefox-related process is running in your system’s Task Manager).
4. Then, under the Profile folder window, delete all of the extensions files.
5. Now delete the compatibility.ini file from your folder and restart it.
6. Restart Firefox and see whether the addons problem has been repaired.
#10 Create a new Firefox profile if you haven’t already.
- Make a new user profile in Firefox.
- Check to see whether the addons problem has been repaired. If this is the case, you can copy cert9.db to the old profile to see if that was the source of the problem.
#11 Restart Firefox.
- Open Firefox and select the hamburger menu from the menu bar.
- After that, go to Help and then Troubleshooting Information.
- Then, click the Refresh Firefox button and confirm that you want to refresh Firefox in the window that appears.
- Check if Firefox is working properly after refreshing the browser.
- If not, restart Firefox (as described above) and then activate the Remember History option (if it is disabled) as described in solution 7 to see if the problem has been resolved.
#12 Change the Addons’ Certificate Requirement
- In the address box of the Firefox browser, type about:config.
- Then take the risk and keep going.
- In the Search Preference Name, look for xpinstall.signatures.required and change its value to False by clicking on its toggle switch (if True).
- Then reopen Firefox to see if the addons problem has been repaired.
